Salma Adem has over 20 years of experience as a leader in non-profit management and higher education administration. With a background in strategic planning, fundraising, marketing and communication, and budget management, Salma has established herself as an accomplished and results-focused executive.
As the Vice President of Planning and Chief of Staff at The University of Texas at Arlington, Salma has been instrumental in guiding the institution's strategic initiatives and operational functions including legal and audit and brings a wealth of expertise, consistently driving organizational growth and results.
Salma has played a critical role in onboarding executives at the highest levels, including presidents, integrating workstreams, playing a key role in setting priorities with the senior leadership team, and serving as a confidant and advisor to three presidents.
She has also served in a variety of additional roles including interim vice president of development and interim vice president of advancement, where she was responsible for overseeing the fundraising and marketing and communications efforts at the university.
Salma holds a Master of Public Administration from National University in California and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from San Diego State University.
