  • Debra Pozega Osburn has served in leadership roles at universities in both the United States and Canada, where she has helped raise profile, build mutually beneficial relationships and accrue the support necessary for institutions to achieve their goals locally, nationally and globally. Her deep and diverse professional experience, and her high level of commitment to help those around her be the best they can be, allow her to set effective institutional strategy and provide vision, leadership and direction for high-performing teams focused on building strong, productive relationships with communities and stakeholders; for building a culture of philanthropy; and for telling the powerful stories that position institutions in the public sphere.

A dual U.S. and Canadian citizen, Dr. Pozega Osburn brings a wealth of experience to Bryant Group, along with a passion for education that began at a young age and has helped define her career path. The daughter of two public school teachers who were the first in their families to attend university, she has served as a vice president at two of Canada’s top-15 research-intensive universities – the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Alberta, and the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan – and also served at director of media relations at her alma mater, Michigan State University. Earlier in her career she worked as a journalist and was a principal and partner in a communications consulting firm that served the education, association and non-profit sectors.

Debra earned both a master’s degree and a doctorate in American Studies from Michigan State, as well as a bachelor’s degree in journalism. She has held various faculty teaching positions throughout her career and has served as a director on numerous non-profit governing boards. Her successes in both the public and private sectors have established her as a recognized expert in communications, public affairs, government relations, fundraising and campaign strategy and community relations.
