The Opportunity Overview

The University of San Diego seeks an experienced, forward-thinking and strategic advancement professional to lead a team in developing and sustaining the University of San Diego’s strategic, multi-level corporate partnerships to advance institutional advancement goals, engagement strategies and partnership initiatives.

As a member of the VP’s Advancement Leadership Team, the successful candidate will increase the breadth and effectiveness of corporate and select benefactor support of university programs, while also providing a platform to support the overall advancement efforts of the university. The Advancement Leadership team is a select group composed of the leaders for the major teams of the advancement office, who are relied on for their strategic guidance to the Vice President in each of the respective areas.

The AVP is responsible for providing leadership, direction, and management of strategic university-wide partnership relationships and developing and implementing an overall corporate strategic plan. This role will also be charged with leading and advising on matters related to highly visible, overarching campus events that advance USD’s objectives, particularly those that raise campus visibility. The AVP will oversee a team of advancement professionals to ensure strategic outreach and communication of institutional priorities, signature events and partnership agreements.

California’s Pay Transparency Act (SB 1162) requires employers with 15 or more employees to include a pay scale for job postings, including internal and external postings and job postings through third parties. Per the University of San Diego, the salary range of $175,000 - $200,000 reflects what we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Actual compensation offered or earned is dependent on experience, education and other factors including departmental budget.

More than 70 staff comprise the University Advancement team which supports all fundraising, marketing and communications, alumni affairs and government relations activities for the University of San Diego.
