  • Delstene Atkinson has extensive executive leadership and management institutional experience to assist board of directors, volunteers and staff to strengthen fund raising, organizational development and capacity building for nonprofit organizations, and substantial experience in planning and executing major gift, capital and annual giving campaigns. She has excellent relationship building and team management skills.

    Delstene recently completed her position at Olivet College as Special Assistant for Academic Strategic Initiatives working directly with the President, Vice President for Advancement, Provost and members of the faculty to advance the development of strategic academic and student engagement funding priority initiatives including securing scholarship support for first-generation students. She also served as Interim Vice President for Advancement and served as a member of the president’s executive council and cabinet.

    Former experience includes serving as Managing Director of Affiliates for Arizona Community Foundation, Foundation Specialist for Northern Arizona Healthcare and in other executive development positions for organizations such as One Hope United, Chicago Commons, the Chicago Child Care Society and the Chicago History Museum. Earlier development experience includes the Boys & Girls Clubs of Chicago, Chicago Youth Centers and The University of Chicago. Atkinson also served as a consultant for the Child Welfare League of America in Washington, D.C.

    She earned a bachelor’s degree from DePaul University, and completed considerable work toward a master of arts at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

    In addition to her professional accomplishments, Delstene enjoys learning about and experiencing art, history, culture and music and spending time with family and friends. She is a lay Egyptologist.
